Online Course addressing Awareness of Gender-Based Violence, for Civil Servants in Panama

Gender-based violence is a critical problem in Panama. Individuals who suffer violence inside as well as outside the home are protected by law. However, getting legal support is a difficult task. Recording a formal complaint with authorities is often complicated: government agencies often function independently yet rely on inter-institutional support to successfully file claims.
Our online course for civil servants will debut in early 2021. It will include topics of general awareness and identification of gender-based violence as well as best practices and management of cases as they are introduced into the legal system. CDNA collaborates with the Defensoría del Pueblo and Guasimo Multimedia to conduct video production interviews with 12 authorities, social scientists, and non-governmental workers.
